DJ Doc – Run To You

Long: In going back to this video, I did go ahead and get completely obliterated on Soju. It’s one of the most vile liquors you can ever subject yourself to (which is why Korean dudes are so tempermental I guess). The thing that immediately caught my attention was the “Desperado” style lead in, you almost expect tumbleweeds to roll across in the dark with Colt 45′s being pulled out of holsters. Right away, you know there’s going to be some dirty shit going down. (more…)
Sechskies – Expectations (Ye Gam)

Alvin: Sechs Kies “Expectations” was one of the first music videos I saw in my life. I should start off by saying I’m not a big music person. My sense of musicality is on par with my understanding of traditional Klingon literature and customs. This has the effect of making me a bit impressionable when it comes to music. There were hints of this quality in their previous videos such as “We Are The Future” and “Iyah”, but “Git It Up” is the one that that finally brings it all together. From the very beginning of the video, you know right away: It starts with gunshots, no, mortar rounds, with a grim reaper standing in the middle of some post apocalyptic wasteland ala “Fist Of The Northstar”, cuts in with vintage footage from WWII, a baby in a carriage, said grim reaper looking over the baby, toy planes which become bombers, fatigues and military boots run by the infant followed by machine gun fire and then…Screaming Howard sets it off as the sinister bass line kicks in.
